How to create an item in the SoftPoint POS system:

External POS Integration: If integrated with an external POS, items are created there and synced to SoftPoint.

Creating an Item in SoftPoint:
- Log into the dashboard and go to Menu > Items.
- Click Add Item to create a new item:
- Add an image, name the item, and provide a button name (for the handheld devices).
- Set an item marketing name for online ordering/kiosk.
- Set a price, either a fixed or open price.
- Assign the item to a category (e.g., "Retail").
- Choose if the item should appear on POS, online ordering, or kiosk.

Editing an Item:
- After creating an item, use the edit option to update its name, price, description, and other details.
- Add advanced settings like sales category, printer settings, barcode numbers, stock count, and taxes.
- Items can be added to multiple menus, and modifiers can be applied.
This process helps set up, customize, and manage items within the SoftPoint system.
