Tip Line with Gratuities

Steps to Customize Tip Text on SoftPoint POS

1. Use Additional Tip Text:

   • Navigate to Configuration > Printing in the dashboard.
   • Set the option to Use Additional Tip Text.
   • This setting prompts the POS unit with a message like "Would you like to leave an additional tip?" during card payments.

2. Use Tip Text:

   • Update the setting to Use Tip Text.
   • This changes the tip prompt to a standard message, such as "Would you like to leave a tip?".
   • This is the default setting for most accounts when initially configured.

3. Use Custom Additional Tip Text:

   • Choose Use Custom Additional Tip Text.
   • Enter a custom message that will appear on the POS unit during the tip selection process.
   • For example, you can specify: "23% gratuity has been applied. Select 'Other' for an additional tip."
   • Any message that fits your business needs can be entered.
   • Save your changes and refresh the device to see the updated custom tip message.
