How to Configure an Item for Scale Weight Pricing

Step 1: Log into Your Dashboard

• Access your dashboard where you manage items and menus.

Step 2: Select the Item

• Navigate to the Menus section.
• Choose the specific item you want to configure.

Step 3: Open the General Settings

• In the item’s settings, go to the General tab.
• Scroll down to find the new configuration options.

Step 4: Choose Measurement Type

• If the item is sold individually at a fixed price, leave the settings as-is.
• To enable pricing by weight:
  • Change the Unit of Measurement to Weight.
  • Set the weight unit to Ounces (currently the only supported unit).

Step 5: Enable Open Pricing

• Locate the Open pricing option.
• Set it to Yes to allow dynamic pricing based on weight.

Step 6: Set Price Per Ounce

• Enter the price per ounce in the designated field (e.g., $0.75 per ounce).

Step 7: Save the Configuration

• Click Save to apply the changes.

Step 8: Use on POS System

• When the item is selected on the POS:
  • The Brecknell scale will automatically provide the item’s weight.
  • The system will calculate the total price by multiplying the weight by the price per ounce.

Important Notes

• This configuration is done per item—you must repeat the process for each item you want to sell by weight.
• Only ounces are supported for weight-based pricing at this time.
