Process for Setting Up a Printer in the SoftPoint System

Log into the SoftPoint Dashboard:
- Access the system by logging into your SoftPoint Dashboard.

Navigate to Setup Configuration Printing:
- Go to the Printing section to manage and configure your printers.

Automatic Printer Creation:
- For internal printers (e.g., Clover Flex, Pax A920, NexGo N5), the system will automatically create the printer when the device logs into SoftPoint for the first time.

Manually Create a Printer:
- If manual setup is needed, click Create Printer and enter the required details, including:
- Printer size
- Type
- Model
- Name
- Serial number
- IP address

Set Printer Type:
- Select the type of printer based on its function:
- Kitchen Printer: Connects via IP (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Receipt Printer: Typically connected directly to the POS system.
- Remote Printer: Uses IP for connectivity.

Select Certified Printer Models:
- Choose a model from the list of certified options, such as Citizen, for kitchen, receipt, or remote printers.

Enter Printer Details:
- Provide specific details, including:
- Printer name (e.g., "Bar Printer")
- Serial number
- IP address
- Backup printers, if applicable

Create the Printer:
- Once all information is entered, click Create to add the printer to the system.

Edit Existing Printers:
- To update printer details (e.g., IP address, name, or model), use the printer’s Action menu and select Edit.

Deactivate Printers:
- Deactivate printers either individually or in bulk by selecting the desired printers and choosing Deactivate.
- Configure Cash Drawers:
- Optionally, set up cash drawers to work with receipt printers.
- Perform a Test Print:
- After configuration, navigate to the Manage Printers section and perform a test print to ensure functionality.
- Sync KDS Printers:
- If using a Kitchen Display System (KDS), click the KDS Printers button to sync and configure printers for the KDS system.
- Complete Setup:
- The printer is now fully set up and ready for use in the SoftPoint system.
