Redeeming a Gift Card

Please see the video and instructions below on how to redeem a gift card on the SoftPoint App. 

• Steps to Pay with a Gift Card in SoftPoint POS

  1. Log into SoftPoint:

     • Start by logging into the SoftPoint POS system.

  2. Select the Check to Pay:

     • Find and select the check you want to pay using a gift card.

  3. Initiate Payment:

     • Click the "Pay" button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

  4. Choose Gift Card Payment:

     • Select the gift card payment option from the available methods.

  5. Tip Prompt:

     • When prompted, choose whether to leave a tip. For this example, select "No".

  6. Swipe, Key in, or Scan the Gift Card:

     • Swipe the gift card, key in the card number, or scan the card's barcode, depending on the type of gift card.

  7. Balance Inquiry:

     • Perform a balance inquiry to check the available balance on the gift card.

  8. Redeem Amount:

     • Once the balance is confirmed, select the option in the top-right corner to change the bottom button to "Pay".
     • Click "Pay" to redeem the specified amount from the gift card.

  9. Hand the Card Back:

     • The system will notify you to hand the gift card back to the staff member for safekeeping.

  10. Choose Receipt Options:

      • Select your preferred receipt options (e.g., print, email).

  11. Complete the Payment:

      • The payment process is now complete, and the check is closed with the gift card payment successfully recorded in the POS system.
