How to Load a Gift Card

Please see the video and instructions below on how to load a gift card on the SoftPoint App. 

• Steps to Load Amount onto a Gift Card in SoftPoint POS

  1. Log into SoftPoint:

     • Start by logging into the SoftPoint POS system.

  2. Open an Existing Order or Create a New Check:

     • If you're using an existing order, select it.
     • To create a new check, click the plus sign in the bottom right corner.
     • Choose a table or enter a name for the order.

  3. Select the Gift Card Item:

     • Choose the item that has been configured as a gift card item (e.g., named "Roundup").

  4. Enter the Amount to Load:

     • Enter the amount to load onto the gift card.

  5. Enter or Swipe the Gift Card:

     • Enter the card number manually or swipe the gift card through the device to input the card details.

  6. Confirm the Details:

     • Click "Confirm" to finalize the details of the gift card load.

  7. Check the Shopping Cart:

     • Go to the shopping cart in the top right corner.
     • You will see the gift card item along with the card number.

  8. Send the Order:

     • Send the order to the point of sale system to record the transaction.

  9. Proceed to Payment:

     • Click "Pay" and select the credit card payment option.

  10. Complete the Payment:

      • Follow the prompts to complete the payment process.

  11. Close the Check:

      • Once payment is completed, the check will be closed, and the gift card will be loaded with the specified amount.

  This process ensures that the gift card is loaded with the desired amount and the transaction is recorded accurately in the SoftPoint POS system.
