This walkthrough demonstrates how to recover a payment in QuickPoint when the payment is successfully processed on the payment device, but the transaction is canceled or times out in Aloha.
Process:
- Start a transaction and send the payment request to the SoftPoint device.
- If the payment is accidentally canceled in Aloha (or times out) while the customer still completes the payment on the device, the payment may be approved on the terminal but not recorded in Aloha.
- To capture the payment, select the SoftPoint payment button again and confirm.
- QuickPoint recognizes that it is the same payment request and amount, then matches ("catches") the previously approved payment instead of creating a new charge.
- The approved payment is applied to the check, any tip information is displayed, and the ticket can be closed normally.
