Creating & Editing Discounts

How to create discounts in the SoftPoint Point of Sale (POS) system:

1. Creating Discounts:

   • If using SoftPoint, log into the dashboard, go to "Payments" and then "Discounts."
   • Right-click to "Create Discount" and choose whether the discount is open (percentage or dollar amount entered manually) or closed (fixed amount).

2. Discount Settings:

   • For open discounts, set the percentage range (e.g., 10% to 50%) and a minimum ticket total for the discount to apply (e.g., a $50 ticket).
   • You can also require manager approval or mark the discount as tax-exempt.

3. Discount Management:

   • Once created, the discount appears in the list, where you can edit or deactivate it.
   • If integrated with an external POS, only the status and manager approval settings can be changed.

4. Applying Discounts:

   • Discounts will be available when processing payments on a ticket in the SoftPoint system.
