What You’ll Need
- Epson TM-T88V/U220 Ethernet model
- Ethernet cable
- Access to the same network the POS will use
- Windows PC (for EpsonNet Config)
- POS terminal or backend access
Step 1: Hardware Setup
- Connect the power cable and plug in the printer.
- Connect the Ethernet cable from the printer to your network switch or router.
- Flip the printer over and while using a screwdriver unscrew the dip switch panel
- Change the dip switches to the below configuration

Upper DIP Switches (1 to 8):
DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN UP -
Lower DIP Switches (1 to 8):
DOWN UP DOWN UP DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN - Power on the printer.
Step 2: Print the Network Status Sheet
This method helps you quickly see the printer’s current IP address (if any).
- Press the red "reset" button in the back of the printer with a pencil or pen.
- The network status sheet will print, showing:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
- Gateway
- MAC Address
- Network Status (DHCP/Static)
📌 If the IP address is listed as 192.168.192.168, it's in default mode and not connected to your local DHCP network yet.
Step 3: Use EpsonNet Config to Find and Configure the Printer
- On your computer connected to the same network the POS and printer are on open command prompt.
- Type the command ipconfig
- Take note of the IPv4 Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway

- Download and install the EpsonNet Config Utility (Windows required).
🔍 Find the Printer
This loom goes over the outlined steps below:
- Launch EpsonNet Config.
- The tool will scan your local network for Epson printers.
- When the printer appears in the list, click on it.
- Click "Configuration" in the toolbar.
🌐 Set a Static IP
- Go to the TCP/IP section.
- Select Manual (Static) and enter:
- A unique IP address (e.g.,
192.168.1.88) - Subnet mask (usually
255.255.255.0) - Gateway (your router’s IP, e.g.,
192.168.1.1)
- A unique IP address (e.g.,
- Click Transmit or Apply to save.
- Power cycle the printer to apply changes.
Step 4: Use EpsonNet Config to Configure Additional Required Settings

Using a browser to navigate to the printer's IP, the timeout looks like this: - Disable eth efficiency mode
- Disable standby mode
- Power cycle the printer to apply changes.
Step 5: Add Printer in POS Software
- Set the new static IP address to the printer in SoftPoint Dashboard - Printers
- Do a Quick Refresh on a POS terminal
- Test to ensure the printer is receiving print jobs via the POS
Troubleshooting Tips

Printer doesn’t appear in EpsonNet Config?
- Ensure PC is on same subnet.
- Try temporarily disabling firewall/antivirus.
- Try direct Ethernet connection between PC and printer using a manual IP setup (e.g., set PC to 192.168.192.100).

Default IP won’t change?
- Factory reset the printer by holding [Feed] and turning on, then pressing [Feed] again when "Initializing" appears.
